Privacy Policy

Rephrase (“the App”) is a Slack application designed to help users reword messages before sending them. This policy outlines how we handle your data when you use the App.

What data we collect

• Your Slack user ID and team ID
• Your Slack for sending messages on your behalf
• The text you voluntarily submit to be rephrased

How we use your data

• OAuth tokens are used only to post messages you approve via the app interface
• Message content is temporarily sent to a third-party AI API to generate a rephrased version
• No message content or user data is stored persistently

Data retention

We do not store your Slack messages or rephrased content. OAuth tokens are stored securely in our database for continued functionality and can be revoked at any time.

Sub-processors

We use the following sub-processor to deliver core functionality of the Rephrase app:

• Google Cloud (Gemini API) — used to process message content and generate rephrased text in real time. No data is stored by Rephrase or Google.

We do not share your data with any other third parties or analytics providers.

Revoking access

You may revoke the App’s access via your Slack settings at any time. Once revoked, we will no longer retain or use your OAuth token.
